Chinese Bhel Recipe a Crispy and Spicy Chinese Delight



Chinese Bhel is apopular street food from Indian that combines crispy fried noodles with tangy and spicy sauces, crunchy vegetables and aromatic seasoning. This fusion dish is inspired by Chinese flavors but adapted to Indian taste preferences, making it a favorite snack for many.

Ingredients:

For Fried Noodles:

. 2 cups Hakka noodles or any thin noodles

. 4 cups water for boiling

. 1 tbsp salt

. 1 tbsp oil

. 2 tbsp cornstarch

. Oil ( for deep frying)

For the Sauce:

. 2 tbsp oil

. 1 tbsp garlic (finely chopped)

. 1 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)

. 2 tbsp spring onions (chopped)

. 1/2 cup capsicum (thinly sliced)

. 1/2 cup cabbage (shredded)

. 1/2 cup carrot (julienned)

. 2 tbsp tomoto ketchup

. 1 tbsp schezwan sauce (adjust to taste)

. 1 tbsp red chili sauce

. 1 tbsp soy sauce

. 1 tbsp vinegar

. 1/2 tbsp black pepper powder

. 1/2 tbsp salt (adjust to taste)

For Garnishing:

. 2 tbsp spring onions (chopped)

. 1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

. 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1 : Prepare Fried Noodles

. Boil water in a pan, add salt and oil, then cook the noodles until al dente

. Drain and rinse the noodles with cold water to prevent sticking

. Sprinkle cornstarch on the noodles and toss to coat evenly

. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the noodles in batches until golden brown and crispy

. Remove and drain on paper towels

Step 2 : Prepare the Sauce

. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a wok

. Add spring onions, capsicum, cabbage and carrots, stir fry on high heat for 2 minutes

. Pour in tomato ketchup, schezwan sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and black pepper. Mix well

Step 3 : Assemble Chinese Bhel

. In a large mixing bowl, add the crispy fried noodles

. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the noodles

. Toss everything gently to coat the noodles with the sauce

. Garnish with spring oniona, coriander leaves and sesame seeds

Serving Suggestions:

. Serve immediately to enjoy the crunchiness

. Pair with a refreshing drink like lemonade or iced tea
