Amla Murabba a Delicious and Healthy Preserve



Amla murabba is a traditional Indian gooseberries (Amla), sugar and aromatic spices. This nutritious delicacy is packed with vitamin C, antioxidants and numerous health benefits, making it a great immunity booster.

Ingredients:

. 500g fresh Amla (Indian gooseberries)

. 500g sugar (adjust as per taste)

. 1 cup water

. 1tbsp cardamom powder

. 1 tbsp saffron strands (optional)

. 1 tbsp black salt (optional)

. 1 tbsp cinnamon powder (optional)

Step by Step Amla Murabba Recipe:

Step 1 : Preparing Amla

. wash the amla thoroughly and prick them with a fork or make small cuts

. Boil water in a pan and blanch the amla for 5-7 minutes until slightly tender

. Drain the water and set the amla aside to cool

Step 2 : Making Sugar Syrup:

. In a deep pan, add sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat on medium flame until the sugar dissolves completely

. Once the syrup starts thickening slightly, add the boiled amla to it

Step 3 : Cooking the Murabba:

. Cook the amla in the sugar syrup on low heat for about 30-40 minutes stir occasionally

. Add cardamom powder, saffron, cinnamon and black salt (if using)

. Continue cooking until the syrup reaches a one string consistency

. Turn off the heat and allow the murabba to cool completely

Step 4 : Storing Amla Murabba

. Transfer the murabba into a clean, dry glass jar

. Let it for a few days so the amla absobs the flavors

Serving Suggestions:

. Enjoy 1-2 pieces of amla murabba daily for health benefits

. It can be eaten as a sweet treat or added to desserts
